High Protein Raspberry-Banana Bowl with Melted Nougat and Pistachios

I’m obsessed with this snack! It tastes just like dessert – creamy, rich, and decadent, with just the right amount of sweetness. But it’s actually packed with protein and really nutritious. It’s also quick and easy to make, which makes it perfect for summer: because let’s be honest, no one wants to spend hours in the kitchen on a hot summer day just to satisfy a sweet tooth.

Yes, this creamy raspberry-banana bowl takes a tiny bit more effort than some other yogurt snacks – like this Quick High Protein Snack with Banana, Nuts, and Dates – because you do need to melt the nougat. But I promise, those extra few minutes are absolutely worth it. The combo of fruity, creamy yogurt, crunchy salted pistachios, and that rich, melty nougat (half-soft, half-cooled by the yogurt) is next-level. I have a feeling it’ll win you over too.

Ingredients:

  • 200 g Skyr or high-protein Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 50 g frozen raspberries
  • 20 g nougat
  • 1 tbsp salted pistachios
  • Pinch of salt

Recipe:

  1. Melt the nougat: Bring a small amount of water to a boil – a kettle works great for this. While it heats, roughly chop the nougat and place it in a small heatproof bowl. Set the bowl over the hot water (without touching it) and let the nougat melt gently, stirring occasionally.
  2. Chop the pistachios.
  3. Blend: Combine the Skyr or Greek yogurt with the banana, frozen raspberries, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Serve: Transfer the yogurt mixture to a bowl, drizzle with the melted nougat, and sprinkle with the chopped pistachios.

Notes:

  • For a cooler, more refreshing version, use frozen banana.
  • You can swap the nougat for milk, dark, or white chocolate – I personally love the soft, creamy texture of nougat best.
  • For a richer snack, stir in a tablespoon of nut butter or add one as a topping. Cashew or almond butter are especially delicious here.
