It’s July – the time of hot weather, beach days, ice cream, and sweet summer fruit. And I’ve got exciting news for this month!
Seeing that you all loved my High Protein Summer Pasta Series in June, I decided that July should get its own summer series. But this time, I want to go into a bit of a different direction with the recipes I’m sharing with you.

I think by now you probably know three things about me. First: I love pasta – June is proof of this, and the other recipes on this blog don’t betray my words – and neither do all my Instagram stories, in which I tend to share a lot of pasta dishes with you. Second: I love high protein recipes – you probably know or at least guessed that I move my body a lot, spending a good part of my free time in the gym lifting weights or out in nature running, walking, or hiking, so getting in enough protein is key; and I also aim to live a balanced lifestyle. Third: I love sweet treats! And I think they absolutely are part of a healthy life!
Let me explain: Health is about much more than just nourishing your body with the healthiest ingredients you can find. It’s not just about what looks healthy to the outside world – I speak from experience when I say that sometimes what seems healthy on the outside can actually be quite the opposite. I don’t want to go too deep into this in this post – after all, it’s about announcing my new series, not about sharing personal struggles (though I will touch on topics like looking healthy vs. being healthy, food and body image, balanced eating, and more in other places – speaking form personal experience to hopefully help and inspire others like me, not from an expert’s perspective!). But what I want to mention here: health includes your mind and soul, not just your body – and don’t we all love a sweet treat here and there?
That’s why I think treats can absolutely be a part of a good, balanced diet that nourishes body and soul and contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Sure, they should be enjoyed in moderation and I also love using nourishing ingredients where I can or combining a sweet treat with a nutritious snack. But the point is: I think we also need food that serves only one purpose: to be enjoyed!
This is what my July series is for: sharing my favorite summery sweet treats with you – and I’m so excited about it!

Now, it’ll be impossible to share all of my season favorites with you in just one month. But my Sweet Summer Treats Series will feature my current favorite treats that I will enjoy all summer long – and don’t worry about the ones I can’t share recipes for this July (unfortunately, I don’t have enough time to write a new recipe daily, though I’d love to!). I’ll definitely share them with you another time because they’re just too good to keep secret and when I love something I want to share it!
But for now, let me give you a bit of an idea what you can expect from this July’s series that will feature my favorite sweet summer treats:
One recipe I already know I will share with you are my strawberry white chocolate oat cookies. You know I love oat cookies (I already have two recipes on here, my … and my …, which are fantastic, so try them if you haven’t yet!). Something about oats just makes the cookies more satisfying than classic cookies, and my strawberry white chocolate oat cookies are not just incredibly delicious and satisfying but also the ultimate summer cookie.

You can also definitely expect more recipes than just this one that feature berries – but I bet you already knew that because, let’s be real, what’s summer without berries? Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries… I can’t even decide which of them I love most and I could literally eat them every single day (and I do, trust me, usually more than once). And since fresh berries aren’t around all year long, this July will be the perfect time to share some of my favorite sweet berry recipes with you – maybe summery raspberry cupcakes with bright, zesty lemon; maybe a light, easy pan sheet cake with fresh blueberries, raspberries, and redcurrants; maybe a light, easy high protein parfait or trifle that can be enjoyed for dessert, as a snack, or even for breakfast; or maybe… well, I think you’ve got an idea of how many sweet berry recipes I have in mind. It will be a hard choice – and I might ask for your help. But I can’t wait to share this sweet berry treats with you!
You might have seen this coming, but I doubt I’ll skip the high protein theme completely this July – and I honestly also don’t want to because what’s better than a sweet treat that’s also packed with protein? It’s basically dessert and nourishment in just one meal – and I also have so many (probably countless) sweet high protein treats that I absolutely love to eat in summer. And like I already mentioned above, if I love something I want to share it!
Since July comes with many hot days if you live in the Northern hemisphere, easy yet unbelievably delicious homemade ice cream or other frozen sweet treats will probably also come up at least once, maybe in combination with one or more of the other things mentioned. Because, honestly, who doesn’t love to cool down when it’s hot outside?

I could go on, but I think I’ll leave the rest to your imagination for now. I haven’t decided yet on every single recipe I’ll share and I also don’t want to tell you everything ahead – because where’s the fun in that?
I hope you follow along with this Sweet Summer Treats Series – both here on the blog and over on Instagram. See you soon, and enjoy the sunshine!
